The Lineup

Ayron Jones and the Way
Some people have said that it takes decades of experience and pain to play blues music like the legends of old but Ayron Jones has proven himself to be the exception. Jones (25) has the ability to make a room sexy like Muddy Watters’ “Mannish Boy,” and then at the blink of an eye he strangles your ear drums with all of the ferocity of Stevie Ray Vaughan. Jones has taken his affinity for alternative rock, hip-hop and gospel, then baptized it in the guitar styles of Buddy Guy, Albert King and Vaughan. The result is a born-again style of blues tailored for the next generation. Born and raised in Seattle, WA, Jones began playing the guitar at age 13. Never taking a lesson or having a teacher, Jones taught himself to play using the recordings of Vaughan as his guide. In 2010, Jones began to turn heads when he teamed up with drummer Conrad Real and bassist DeAndre Enrico. Together they became Ayron Jones and The Way, the only all-black, blues-rock act in Seattle. Since then they have been shocking Seattle's music scene with their passion-driven playing and off-the-wall antics. Often coming on to a bill as the no-name band but leaving as the unforgettable, they are proving to their audiences and fans that blues and soul is still very much alive in music. Some of the venues around the greater Seattle area that the band has played include The Hard Rock Cafe, Nectar, Snoqualmie Casino, Roslyn Blues Festival, The Bob Rivers Show, and the University Street Fair. The band capped off 2011 by winning "Best of Show" at the Best of Western Washington awards show. 2012 is shaping up big as the band will release their debut EP early in the year, with extensive touring not far behind that.

Parzival
Recording artist out of Seattle, WA. Parzival performs groovy modern singer-songwriter music for concerts, blues dances, and house shows throughout the Northwest. He is currently recording the follow-up to his 2010 concept album 'Postmodern Love', which drew comparisons in sound to Snow Patrol, Kings of Leon, and John Mayer. You can find more information, music, and videos at www.parzivalmusic.com.

Sean Hunting Morse
Sean Hunting Morse came to play blues music as a blues dancer. Coming from the dance floor side of the room, Sean “gets it” when it comes to what dancers need to feel comfortable on the dance floor. Every event Sean plays is a true collaboration between performer and dancer. His improvisation is laced with wit, musicality, and always laughter. Every show is one-of-a-kind, blending inspiration from the venue, the mood, and most importantly the dancers themselves. Sean has shared the stage with such accomplished blues and swing musicians as Erica Brown from Denver, Solomon Douglas from Seattle, Gerry Hundt from Chicago, and Ronnie Shellist of Denver's The Shuffletones. He has been playing around the country at small and large events since 2006ish. 2011 saw Sean in NYC, DC, TX, CA, OR, CO, WA, MO, and BC, performing at Seattle House Wars, Blues, Brews and BBQ, Dance Dance Resolution, FUSE in Vancouver, Portland Blues Experience, and SFFX, as well as many other local and regional dance events.

Mai Li
Now 6 years out of music school in Florida, composer, multi-intrumentalist & singer Mai Li has become the Girl of a Thousand Projects. She's scored and played several Seattle theater productions, orchestrated/ arranged/ played/ sang on numerous bands' records, and played with local luminaries Evan Flory Barnes (jazz), Sean Morse (blues), and Jherek Bischoff (alt/prog rock/ noise music) in venues that range from house parties to large halls. She's an incredibly diverse player, singer, and writer; but when you put the 3 1/2 octave powerhouse behind an acoustic guitar, the smoky contralto and the explosive belt can't help but steal the spotlight over raw rhythms & catchy hooks, interspliced with the occasional sweet soprano and intricate line. Her sound has been compared to Adele, Janis Joplin, Ben Folds, Tracy Chapman, and KT Tunstall. As a passionate blues dancer and member of the community for over 3 years, she's honored for the chance to help keep Burn Blue, the biggest & longest running weekly blues dance in Seattle, going! She's picked the songs with dancers in mind, so expect your hips to move and to crave a dance with whoever you're sweet on!

The Lust Buzzards
The Lust Buzzards are not a band in the traditional sense. They haven’t been around hitting the streets promoting and playing local shows over years and years. They haven’t recorded a catalogue of albums, which roadmap an intimate story of perseverance as an independent, undiscovered musical act. They are however a group of musicians, who feel strongly about the issues that have created the necessity for this very event, and have volunteered to put together a performance exclusively for Blue Fire. Guitarist, Jordan Haas, a long time performer in the Seattle area with such bands as Down North, Midnight Mile, and Notorious 253 was approached with the opportunity to assemble an act for this event only a few short months ago. He brings with him a talented and diverse cast of musicians, with whom he has played many shows over the years. Together, the Lust Buzzards are prepared to perform a set full of passionate and energized blues and sole covers, with the hope of leaving every audience member on their feet and excited to support a cause they feel so passionately about.
